　　盛世修史，是中华民族的传统。为彰显广东华侨的伟大历史贡献，弘扬广东华侨的优良文化传统，传承广东华侨的悠久移民历史，广东省委、省政府决定编修一部系统、科学、权威的《广东华侨史》，由省长朱小丹担任《广东华侨史》编修工作领导小组组长，副省长招玉芳、省侨办主任吴锐成等担任副组长，办公室设在省侨办，由省侨办主任吴锐成兼任办公室主任。
　　编修《广东华侨史》不仅可为广东在新形势下发挥侨力资源、加快建设幸福广东提供宝贵历史经验，进一步传承广东务实、创新、开放的优秀文化，弘扬粤侨精神，同时也可表彰广东华侨对祖国和住在国的贡献，展示广东华侨对世界历史发展的作用，提升广东华侨在国际社会的影响力。
　　做好《广东华侨史》编修工作，离不开广大粤籍侨胞的关心、支持和参与，希望广大粤籍侨团、侨胞乡亲一如既往地发扬爱国爱乡精神，热情关注和支持修史工作，向我办提供涉及广东华侨历史和现状的书刊、书信、档案、会议记录、侨团特刊、文集、日记、碑刻等文献资料和有关影视作品（正本、复印本、照片均可，但请注明提供者的姓名和联系方式）。冀盼广大粤籍侨团、侨胞以实际行动参与到这一具有重大历史意义的文化工程中，为共同完成《广东华侨史》编修工程贡献力量！

Solicit Historical Materials for Guangdong Overseas Chinese History

Reverent Overseas Cantonese Societies Chieftains and Compatriots,
It is a Chinese tradition to compile history in times of peace and prosperity. To honor the great historical achievements of the overseas Cantonese, to promote and develop the excellent cultural tradition, and to inherit the long history of overseas Cantonese, Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Government have decided to compile a systematic, scientific and authoritative Guangdong Overseas Chinese History, and Governor Zhu Xiaodan of Guangdong Provincial People's Government acts as chairman of Leadership Group Office for Compiling Guangdong Overseas Chinese History, vice-governor Zhao Yu-fang, Director Wu Rui-cheng of Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Guangdong Province, etc. as vice-chairman. The specific Office, with Wu Rui-cheng doubling down its director, is located in Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Guangdong Province.
Compiling History of Overseas Cantonese can not only provide Guangdong with valuable historical experience in quickening the steps of building up a happy Guangdong by taking full advantage of overseas Cantonese resources in a new era, deepening the succession of pragmatic, enterprising and open Cantonese culture and tradition, and carrying forward the spirit of overseas Cantonese, but also giving commendation to the overseas Cantonese contributions to both China and the countries of residence, displaying their roles in the world history, and raising their influences on the international society.
To compile a good Guangdong Overseas Chinese History, we urgently need the attention, support and participation of the overseas Cantonese, and we hope that all of the overseas Cantonese will continue as before to develop the spirit of loving your home-country and home-land, and closely follow and support the compilation of Guangdong Overseas Chinese History by providing us with anything concerning overseas Cantonese history, including books, journals, letters, documents, meeting minutes or records, overseas Cantonese magazines, collected works, diaries, inscriptions on a tablet, film and television pieces, etc. All of these can be originals, copies or pictures (and please give us your name and address if you provide us with anything).
